Is SMP Permanent?
It’s semi permanent! The tattoo pigment used in these types of procedures fades over time to ensure the integrity of the of the look. Have you ever seen someone who had their eyebrows tattooed over 15 years ago, and the pigment can look purple, green or blue? That’s because traditional tattoo pigment was used and it is NOT formulated to fade, even though it does (from both environmental factors and also the body breaking down the pigment over time.) The reason pigment can fade to a different color is because the body breaks it down by the size of the particle of the pigment, and different pigment colors are different particle sizes! So when you see purple brows for example, it’s because all of the other colors that were in the pigment mixture to create brown have faded away!
So with all of that being said, cosmetic tattoo pigment fades over time so that it looks natural and can be touched up without becoming over saturated!
