How Long Will My Eyebrows (Or Eyeliner) Last?
After your first touch up, brows can last up to 2 years and eyeliner can last 4+ years!
I'll say it until the day I die, "EVERYONE HEALS DIFFERENTLY."
The type of pigment used during cosmetic procedures is semi-permanent, which means that it will fade over time and need to be touched up. There are a handful of variables that can cause the pigment to fade quicker, but if you make sure to just limit sun exposure and be sure to not use any skincare products that can cause sun sensitivity they'll last as long as your body will allow it - which can be anywhere from 1 - 2 years after your first touch up!
Once your skin has healed you must make sure to limit sun exposure - the sun (and tanning beds!) will cause fading and discoloration. Always make sure to apply sunscreen to protect your new eyebrows! You can purchase sunscreen sticks that are easy to toss in your bag and have readily available for touch ups during the day! Unless its eyeliner - you can wear large sunglasses for further protection. Face peels, laser treatments and microdermabrasion will cause the pigment to lighten quicker. If you plan on receiving any of the aforementioned treatments make sure to inform your technician not to go over your eyebrows. Almost everyone needs the first touch up within 6 months-1 year to reach the desired results. Any touch ups or additions to your new tattoo can be done no sooner than 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure.
Eyeliner can last for quite awhile - I've seen 10+ year old eyeliner -however will need touch ups every 2-4 years to maintain the color depth!
There are no guarantees if you do not take care of your new tattoo. Please refer to my detailed aftercare guide, here.
