What Are the Risks of Plasma Skin Tightening?

- Post Inflammatory Hyper-Pigmentation, Hypo-Pigmentation or Keloid Scarring - Fitzpatrick skin types 4, 5 and 6 are prone to hyper-pigmentation/hypo-pigmentation and keloid scarring. (If you don't know your Fitzpatrick skin type click HERE for more information.) If you experience P.I.H. with regular scrapes and cuts it's more than likely you will also with this treatment. P.I.H. will eventually resolve itself, but it can take years for the discoloration to completely disappear. You may use hydroquinone to help diminish the P.I.H. quicker. Below are two examples of what this may look like. (Both photos are property of DermaPro, neither are my work!)
- Infection/Poor Healing - If you do not follow my aftercare instructions exactly as written you are putting yourself at risk to experience an infection in the area. If you have any of the contradictions I have listed (HERE) and do not tell me, you are putting yourself at risk for poor healing (which can result in infection or scarring.)

- Scarring - If you pick at the carbon crusts (scabs) to remove them prematurely you are putting yourself at risk to experience scarring.

- Hematomas/Punctures - During the procedure, my machine never touches you. I only need to get close enough so that the electricity from my machine can mix with the natural gases coming off of your skin to create the electrical arc needed to remove your excess skin. If you move during the procedure you will be putting yourself at risk to experience punctures and bruising. (Keep in mind, those who have very sensitive skin may experience a little bruising anyways.)

- Cold Sores / Fever Blisters - This only pertains to the lip area. If you do experience cold sores/fever blisters you will HAVE TO take a preventative for at least 3 days before the treatment and 4 days after. Having this procedure done in the lip area will more than likely trigger an outbreak otherwise.
